TRACK 1: 'Jealous'
Angel and I wrote this the 1st day we met. I originally pictured the song coming from the perspective of someone I had dated but by the time I recorded the vox I was feeling jealous enough myself to sing it from my own perspective. Now singing it live it has a whole new meaning.
TRACK 2: 'The Thought of You'
In an interview I was asked what the craziest part about playing at the Madison Square Garden was and I said it was singing this song. I wrote the lyrics and melody sitting in my car at 2am and watched Sam Wilkes write the chords in our hotel room on the HC Tour. Very special song to me, it's one of those songs that I sometimes can't believe I sing out loud because it's full of such PERSONAL SH*%!
TRACK 3: 'Space & Time'
I wrote the intro to this song right after a guitar lesson from James Valentine in the back lounge of the Maroon 5 tour bus on my 1st tour. It's also the name sake of my two EPs. There are a million reasons I named the EPs 'Space' and 'Time' and I CANT WRITE THEM ALL OUT RIGHT NOW! I remember when Brian Green put that drum fill going into the chorus and Sam and I LOST IT.
TRACK 4: 'Young & Foolish'
I tweeted this once: 'The song I'm recording today is one I wrote when I needed it but also when I was thinking that maybe all of you might need it too.' I was talking about 'Young & Foolish'. Sometimes following your dream is hard and that is what this song is about!! This song is definitely the hardest one to sing on the EP. That vocal session was REAL.
